Objectives
Re-design homepage, navigation and footer site wide, incorportate new imagery and icons. Acorn uses a sophisticated content management system that is maintained on-site. The goal was not to re-do the site from scratch but to work with the existing site to give it a new look and feel that was more current and consistent with recent marketing campaigns. We worked closely with marketing at Acorn to deliver a homepage that was user friendly and reorganized product categories and subcategories.
Features
The home page incorportates latest XHTML compliant standards using CSS for content and layout. The top bar navigation menu was deployed using CSS (cascading style sheets) achieving what up until recently consisted of heavy DHTML scripts that were never cross browser friendly. The CSS based menu system can be updated easily to allow for seasonal color palette changes and additional links easily and will save time and money down the road for Acorn.
Conclusion
Acorn has thier original site infrastructure in tact with a current and up to date look that acheived their goal of reorganizing product categories to represent the current Acorn product offerings, and in time for the holidays!
