Wireless Network Security.
With the proliferation of Broadband Internet Access and inexpensive Wireless Network Devices, it seems everyone is setting up wireless networks, consumers and businesses alike. While the flexibility and ease of deployment make wireless network solutions attractive, securing physical access to the network is difficult, since anyone within range of the Access Point (AP) can potentially eaves drop on the network activity. WEP vs WPA
Wireless Equivalent Privacy (WEP) uses one key (64 or 128 bit) to encrypt all wireless traffic on your network. While WEP does provide a level of encryption, a sophisticated hacker can crack the key given enough time. Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) uses an encryption method called TKIP, which changes the encryption key with every data frame. WPA is considered a superior protocol for securing a wireless network.
